Cheap drones are no longer a compromise — they are becoming the strategy. The demand is no longer for “exquisite” systems — it’s for affordable, scalable, and survivable ones. Thousands of units, rapid deployment, and the ability to operate in EW and GPS-denied environments. Attritable is becoming the new standard.
At Flying Fox Engineering, this is exactly what we are building for. A simple, scalable fixed-wing UAV (Fox Lightning) with a target cost of up to ~$2,500 per unit, an operational range of up to ~25 miles, and a payload capacity of up to ~5.5 lb. Practical solutions for real-world conditions: reduced signal power at launch to protect the crew, rapid channel switching under jamming, and resilience in electronically contested environments. No unnecessary complexity — focused on usability and scale.
We have already submitted this solution through current U.S. Army initiatives and are awaiting expert feedback. In parallel, we are in discussions to secure access to a test range for near-term demonstration flights.
We remain open to conversations with investors and partners who understand where this market is heading.
