Created in response to Hover UAV’s continued growth, this newly created leadership role will oversee operational service delivery across client and internal programs, manage the Remote Operations Centre (ROC), and coordinate priorities across operational teams. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you will also act as a Chief Remote Pilot for Hover UAV, support other Chief Remote Pilots, and mentor client pilots and teams as they build capability and operational maturity.
● Oversee day-to-day operational service delivery across Hover UAV’s client and internal programs
● Work closely with the COO to coordinate priorities, allocate resources, and ensure operational tasks are delivered on time and to a high standard
● Manage the Remote Operations Centre (ROC), including operational readiness, coordination of activities, and support for remote operations
● Act as Chief Remote Pilot for Hover UAV
● Mentor client remote pilots and operational teams as they build capability, confidence, and operational maturity
● Provide leadership and oversight to Operational Leads, Remote Pilots, and CRP support personnel
● Oversee and contribute to RPAS operations and CRP support services, including operational planning, pilot support, maintenance and airworthiness coordination, and the safe delivery of field and remote operations
● Support training coordination, proficiency checks, technology implementation, operational trials, and process improvement
● Ensure operational systems, documentation, and records are maintained to support compliant and efficient service delivery
● Assist in developing and improving operational procedures, workflows, and internal capability
● Identify operational gaps, capability needs, and improvement opportunities, and work with the COO to address them
● Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) MultiRotor 25kg
● Strong experience as a Chief Remote Pilot, aviation operations, or a similar operational leadership role
● Demonstrated experience coordinating operational priorities and supporting service delivery across multiple workstreams
● Strong knowledge of CASA RPAS / Drone regulations, operational approvals, and compliance requirements
● Strong leadership, mentoring, and people coordination skills
● Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
● Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, pilots, and internal teams
● Ability to multitask, problem solve, and manage competing priorities
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office
● Experience managing or supporting a Remote Operations Centre
● IREX or pass in BVLOS OCTA exam
● BVLOS, EVLOS, or remote operations experience
● Experience in training delivery, inductions, or competency / proficiency checks
● Experience with RPAS compliance software such as AVCRM
● Understanding of maintenance coordination and airworthiness processes
● Vocational training experience (e.g. Cert IV Training & Assessment)
● Up to Powered Lift RePL endorsements
