New curriculum aims to streamline aerial data collection, focusing on safety and repeatable results in the field.
Drone technology firm Wingtra has announced the launch of its new WingtraRAY operator course, designed to provide a structured, step-by-step guide to the platform’s full workflow. The programme covers the entire operational cycle, from initial equipment setup to the generation of final data outputs.
The curriculum has been developed in response to the practical requirements of field operators, with a primary focus on user experience, safety protocols, and ensuring repeatable accuracy during deployment.
The training begins with equipment familiarisation and system activation, before moving into flight planning via the WingtraPRO software. Trainees are guided through mission preparation and accuracy management, ensuring they can handle onsite setup with confidence.
Beyond the flight itself, the course encompasses inflight responsibilities and post-flight procedures. It also provides a detailed overview of WingtraUNLIMITED, the system’s data processing suite, which allows users to transform raw aerial data into professional maps and exports.
The development of the resource was led by Wingtra technical specialists Daniel Straitiff and Ben Snyder. As the commercial drone sector continues to expand, such structured training is increasingly seen as vital for maintaining safety standards and data integrity across the industry.
