HIEN Aero Technologies has entered into a formal Business Partner Agreement with SwissDrones to introduce long-range UAS in Japan. The first SwissDrones SDO 50 V3 unit is scheduled to arrive by late 2025 and will be delivered to our partner, Sanwa Gikou. This collaboration initiates HIEN’s efforts to develop a market for advanced long-range UAS tailored to Japan’s industrial needs.
Addressing Key Market Challenges:
Conventional drones in Japan often face limitations in payload capacity, flight endurance, and aviation-grade safety for missions such as disaster response, infrastructure inspection, and maritime surveillance. The SDO 50 V3 addresses these with:
High payload for heavy sensors and cargo
Extended multi-hour endurance for wide-area operations
Redundant, all-weather aviation-grade design
Intermeshing double rotor system for enhanced reliability
Leadership Perspectives:
Gaku Minorikawa CEO of HIEN Aero Technologies: SwissDrones’ long-range UAV offers high payload, endurance, and reliability to address Japan’s most demanding aerial tasks. HIEN is committed to operationalizing these capabilities and establishing a new market segment.”
Ulrich Amberg CEO of SwissDrones: “The introduction of the first unit in Japan is a significant milestone for us. HIEN’s operational expertise and understanding of the Japanese market make them the ideal partner to bring the value of SwissDrones long-range UAVs to industrial and public safety applications in Japan.”
Future Initiatives:
Following delivery, HIEN will conduct demonstration flights, develop solutions for disaster response, surveillance, and inspections, launch operator training programs, and pursue pilot projects with government and private sector partners.
We look forward to advancing aerial mobility in Japan through this strategic alliance. Stay tuned for more information and don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
